LungAgeAccel is the primary output

Measure lung-age acceleration against a Chinese reference.

Enter one baseline spirometry record. This page estimates the expected FVC and FEV1/FVC for the same age, sex and height, then expresses the mortality-weighted difference as an age-equivalent lung phenotype.

How the score is constructed

The reference equations are sex-specific quadratic functions of age and height. The final M6 model uses the observed FVC and FEV1/FVC values; FEV1 is used here to recompute the ratio.

deltaLP_lung = -0.55874091 × (FVC - expected FVC) -1.47845650 × (FEV1/FVC - expected ratio) LungAgeAccel = deltaLP_lung / 0.08712056 ChineseLungAge = chronological age + LungAgeAccel

Positive values indicate a lung-specific ageing offset above chronological age on the CKB reference scale. This calculator is for research use and is not a diagnostic device.

Use litres for spirometry and centimetres for height.
